POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD) CAN SEVERELY AFFECT WORKING LIFE

Help us fund dedicated awareness training for UK businesses

Vision

PTSD At Work's vision is for all UK businesses to be aware of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and have standard measures in place, to ensure a positive and supportive working environment for those suffering with PTSD and related mental health conditions, throughout England and Wales.

Mission

Our mission is to raise awareness of PTSD and the effects that it can have in the workplace. We want those suffering to be aware of our charity and the support available to them. We will help to provide UK employers with the relevant information, training and support, to make the working day more manageable for those suffering with the disorder.

How we can help

We will provide grants to fund dedicated training for UK businesses throughout England and Wales. We will work to implement measures across all UK businesses, to create a positive mental health environment for all employees.

Estimated number of mental health related sick days per year

We are PTSD At Work, thank you for visiting us!

Mental illness, including conditions such as anxiety and depression, is the leading cause of sickness absence in the United Kingdom, with a recent British study estimating the figure to be approximately 70 million sick days per year. The cost of mental illness in the United Kingdom is around £100 billion per year *

Conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are becoming more recognised, yet due to lack of understanding, many employers are not aware of how much it can impact on a person’s working life and what changes need to be made in the workplace, to support an employee who is suffering.

PTSD At Work wants to change this, by raising awareness of the disorder and the ways in which it affects individuals at work. By creating a mentally healthy workplace, absences can be reduced, productivity can improve and employees can work in an environment where they feel valued, appreciated and safe.

"I WANT TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF PTSD"

“Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affected my life and work. Please support my charity, PTSD At Work, and help us fund dedicated training to UK businesses. The workplace can be extremely challenging for people with PTSD, I want to make it easier” – Nathan Bowen, Founder
